6.2.3 Makers Empire objects saved to the Polar Cloud

The Makers Empire 3D design app has an option to download its objects.

Further, Makers Empire through its Teacher Dashboard offers an option to connect a class to the Polar Cloud, so that objects are saved (exported) to the Polar Cloud automatically!

Note that Makers Empire object export (or download) features require a paid subscription.

You may individually download an object using the Download icon on the Makers Empire object; see for instance Figure 6.32. You will be asked for an email address to which Makers Empire will then email the object’s .stl file. Once you receive the Makers Empire email, save the object .stl file attachment to your device, and then upload it into the Polar Cloud.

Teachers may also download their students’ Makers Empire objects via the Makers Empire Teacher Dashboard; this is the same sort of download process (select an email address to which the object will be sent), but initiated by the teacher via their Teacher’s Dashboard. Figure 6.33 shows an example of the Download icon on an object viewed from the Teacher’s Dashboard.

Alternatively, a teacher may configure Makers Empire to automatically save (export) students’ objects to the Polar Cloud. If you’re a teacher who already has a Makers Empire account created, then for instructions on using the Makers Empire Teachers Dashboard to connect your Makers Empire account and class to the Polar Cloud (and then being able to export Makers Empire objects directly to the Polar Cloud), see:

When you use this approach to automatically save your students’ Makers Empire objects to the Polar Cloud, such objects will have a Makers Empire logo on the lower right-hand corner of the object tile in the Polar Cloud. Objects are automatically saved to your (the teacher’s) private (“MY OBJECTS”) object collection in the Polar Cloud; you may subsequently share the objects to other Polar Cloud members (such as to student members, when the students have Polar Cloud accounts of their own), groups, or the public. For instance, Figure 6.34 shows a Polar Cloud public object with Makers Empire logo. (Note that that Makers Empire logo is an active link: clicking on the logo will open up a new window to the Makers Empire website.)
