more than just their cool,
funny characters— they’re
photographers andartists,
aswell.
“I’m the illustrator/
cartoonist, butmy
husband’s toothygrin
andpersonalityare the
inspiration for the silly tone
of the comics,” saysTippy.
(She’s thepinkgoonamed
Tipsy.) “On the sidewe
also conductwatercolor
and letteringworkshops.”

collaborationwith furniture
shopHeima.
Beingapart ofThe
GooglyGooeys has
certainly changed their
lives inmoreways than
one, including their thirst
for travel and their overall
travel habits.
“TheGooglyGooeys
is another platform for us
to shareour travel photos
and stories. Before this, we
were just sharingour photos
onour personalMultiply
andFacebook accounts,”
recountsTippy. “Theblog
has changedour travel
opportunities, though, since
our tripsduring the last
few years to Ilocos, Iloilo
(for relief efforts), Boracay,
Macau,Malaysia, Europe
andNewYork all cameabout
becauseof theblog.”
Do the couple’s travel
stylesdiffer a lot? “We
both love takingphotos
of landmarks and scenery.
Whenabroad, wealso love
exploring citiesby foot.We
loveagoodmixofmostly the
outdoors, abit of cultural
experienceanda tasteof
the city life,”Tippy says.
“Between the twoof us,
hubby is the foodiewho
makes sure thatweget to
tryall the local food.On the
other hand, I justmake sure
weget tovisit any local art
districts, art supply stores
andmodernartmuseums, if
timepermits.”
Memorabledestinations
the couplehas visited
include Icelandand Italy.
“Whenwewere in Iceland
lastNovemberwewent
hunting for thenorthern
lights, walkedonaglacier,
andvisited thegeysers
and falls,” saysTippy.
“Each Italian citypretty
much looks likeadifferent
nation, with its ownunique
architectureandpalette.
That trip inspiresmy
artwork to thisday.”
Avacation for theGos
is just that—a timewhen
they canenjoy themselves
and live in themoment. “I
noticed thatwhenwe’re
travelingwe rarelyhave
time towriteanddraw, or
even toblog,” she says.
