“What does the
board with numbers
that appears in
the window of the
cockpit mean?”
Michel Le Moine, France
the board you refer to
is a fuel
card, placed in the right-hand window
of the flight deck by pilots to confirm
the amount of fuel required for the flight
in metric tonnes. So, 5.4 indicates
5,400kg (4,320 litres) of fuel.
The pilots use a flight plan to establish how much
fuel is required. This takes into account various
factors, including the route, wind and weather
conditions at the departure and arrival airports. The
captain crosschecks the fuel displayed in the gauges
with the fuel remaining from the last flight and how
many litres of fuel have been pumped into the tanks.

Keeping tabs on
your flight
Use our new Flight Tracker tool and keep on
top of live updates
after listening to your
feedback, we understand it can
be frustrating not knowing what’s going on when there
are flight delays, which is why we’ve recently launched
our new Flight Tracker Live Updates system. As the name
suggests, this lets you quickly and easily find out about
departures or arrivals in real time.
Simply go to the Flight Tracker page on the website
(
flighttracker.easyJet.com
) or in your easyJet app. Every
flight around our network for the current four-day period
is trackable. Due to the information on Flight Tracker
coming directly from the easyJet Operations Conatrol
Centre, you’ll always get the most up-to-date, transparent
and honest information at any given moment – and you
can access it on your smartphone, tablet or computer.
Search by flight number or route, before clicking to get
information on the precise time of take-off and landing.
Plus, it’ll have live updates on delays or in-airport issues.
We’re the first airline to offer this service and already
more than 1.8m of you have made use of it. Now you’ll
always be able to get an accurate picture of the status of
flights, the moment they’re updated.
