“It was a bit of a handful.”
His passions have paid
off, resulting in a five-year
tenure at Cirque with an act
– Cyr wheel – that relies on
physics as well as physicality.
“I use momentum and create
angles with my body to spin it
around,” he says of his act.
Eventually, he wants to
pursue a science career –
probably healthcare – but he
admits that his past four
years in the circus have given
him “a really great life… You
leave on Sunday, you get
shipped to the next city,
either by bus or by plane.
Your bags arrive in your
room, then you have two
days off. I like to hire a car,
take off and just explore.”

being an artistic gymnast
since early childhood, the
American has a science
degree from Berkeley. “I
studied natural science,
pre-med, environmental
sciences, as well as
