Shaw’sprogrammaybemost famous for
itsquarterbackarms, buthe’s stillmost re-
vered among players forwhat he does for
legs.Keeping it simple, Shawadds thekind
of speed that’s thediŠerencebetweena re-
ception and a just-beyond-the-fingertips
pass, betweena lossondowns anda touch-
down.“Forexplosivepower, jumpingwitha
25-to27-poundweightedvestcanbuilditup
fast,”Shaw says.Healso likesmirror train-
ing: Aplayer chases acart equippedwitha
largemirrorwhilewatchinghis form and
thereforehas the chance to instantly cor-
rect it. “It’s likewatchingvideo, butwhere
youdon’thave towait tomake that change
— ithelpstohavethat instantfeedback.”But
it’sShaw’sown feedbackduring theseexer-
cisesthatcanmakethediŠerence.“Hesees
thingsnooneelsedoes,”Taylor says. “You
workwithhim for a couplehours and you
think, ‘Howdidhedothat?’–”
