project.Whilemore expensive thannormal
turbines, this floating one will be able to
catchmore wind and will supply power to
coastal cities andoffshoreoil platforms.
Paris
’s mayor, Bertrand Delanoë, has
announced plans for a cheap, eco-friendly
car-rental system as part of an initiative to
rebates on approvedhot-water-on-demand
systems.And thecity’swaterconservation is
improving: In 1990, usagewasmeasuredat
166gallons dailyper capita, but by2004, it
hadbeen reduced to 121 gallonsper capita.

GavinNewsom says thebottling, transport-

of that. What’s more is that grocery shop-
pers soonwon’t have the “paper or plastic”
option— San Francisco is the first city to
banplastic shoppingbags.
