We love letters.Maybe it’s because our grandmas always used to tape
a quarter to our birthday cardswhenwewere little, andwe nowhave
this Pavlovian thing going on. Regardless, wewant to hear from you.

TACOTIME
SarahHepola’sApril 15article “TacoTown!”
inspiredme and a friend to take a “Tour de
Tacos” around Austin to sample the city’s
best taquerias. We stopped at three of the
establishments that were in the article,
La Mexicana Bakery, Tacodeli, and Taco
Xpress. LaMexicanaBakeryhas a full bak-
ery inside, sohadwenothadpastries inad-
dition tobreakfast tacos,weprobably could
haveaddedat least twomore stops.
As true Austinites, we rode our bikes to
each location. The routewe tookwasmore
or less a loop around South Austin that
included a ride through some of the city’s
most scenic areas, suchas theBartonCreek
Greenbelt (nearTacodeli) and theHikeand
BikeTrail aroundTownLake.The tourcon-
cluded at Taco Xpress at lunchtime, so we
changed ourmenu from breakfast tacos to
regular tacos.
My friend and I agreed that wemust do
an expanded route at some point. Combin-
ing two of Austin’s best things to do (bik-
ing and taco eating) is a formula for agreat
time. Itwasdifficult to limit our taco intake
toonlyoneper stop, but somehowweman-
aged. Thanks for making our “Tour de Ta-
cos2007” a success!
