NOVEMBER MEETING REPORT
by Bud Vye, Retired CFM
A clear, crisp, 47 degree night as a turnout of 32 bundled up and found their way out
to Bogey's Sports Park on Ashland Rd. near the Rockville/Manakin exit of I-64. As I
pulled into the parking lot, the brightly lit Pro Shop was visible up on the hill, but the
Pavilion down below was also lit up and appeared to be where our group was. As I
got closer, I could see Barbe & Andrea at the Registration table checking people in,
with Trolley House's Mike Calkins over by the
Refreshments Tables featuring a very nice
selection of both liquid refreshments & hors
d'oeuvres that was being provided by his Groovin' Gourmets divi-sion.
After a lengthy and con-vivial
networking period,
President Jeff Sechrest
got the group's attention
and convened the meeting, recognizing first time meeting at-tendee
Nathan Hackney of CJ Geo, who are Geotechnical Con-tractors,
specializing in cellular concrete, chemical & polyure-thane
grouting, culvert, commercial foundation, sinkhole, large
diameter pipe, and concrete floor repairs. Sounds like they might be the ones to look up if you have a dif-ficult
concrete repair job and their website is www.cjgeo.com
Jeff then announced that our Holiday Party on 12/12 would again be out at his Luck Stone facility after
which Programs Chair Allen Hurt told us to stay tuned for some program surprises as we go into 2018. A
quick wrap up to a brief business meeting, after which a few hardy souls went up the hill to play a round
of miniature golf, while most of us left after being given an Activity Pass good for a future round of that
activity, three tokens for the batting cage, or a bucket of balls at the driving range.
