The Griffons came back from 17 down at halftime to defeat rival Northwest Missouri State 21-20 with Travis Partridge’s 2-yard touchdown run with 1:07 left in the game to come out with the victory. Michael Hill’s 10-yard runnot only set up the go-ahead score, but also broke the season record for most rushing yards. The victory clinches the Griffons’ first ever conference title outright, their second conference title and 10 wins for the first time in a season. Hill finished with 19 carries for 121 yards. Partridge went 19-for-26 with 207 yards and two scores, with one interception. Partridge also had 10 carries for 25 yards and a score. MWSU snapped a five-game losing streak in Maryville...last victory in Maryville was in 2001. First outright MIAA title...tied for the title in 2003. JOSEPH, Mo. – Missouri Western’s magical run during the 2012 football season continued Saturday afternoon at Spratt Stadium. Behind entering the fourth quarter, the Griffons came back and tied it twice, and won the game in three overtimes, defeating 2010 National Champions Minnesota-Duluth 57-55. Chase Vogler, who finished the game with 184 rushing yards and 195 passing, tripped trying to tie the game in the third overtime period. Michael Hill finished the game with 187 rushing yards. Travis Partridge finished going 24-for-33 with three touchdowns. Tarrell Downing had six catches for 144 yards. Kyle Knox, Tyron Crockom, Brandon Wright and Reggie Jordan all had multiple catches to help the Griffons win. Marc Harrison had a huge day defensively, totaling 12 tackles with the one interception. David Bass had 11 tackles with one sack. It was the first overtime win for the Griffons since Aug. 31, 2006, when Missouri Western defeated Central Oklahoma 32-29 in double overtime.
