Todd Throckmorton starts his fifth season in his third stint at Missouri Western. Throckmorton will be the Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line coach after spending his first four seasons in the the Offensive Line coach. Prior to Missouri Western, Throckmorton spent three seasons at the University of New Mexico as their Tight Ends coach. In 2012, Missouri Western’s rushing attack was outstanding. The Griffons finished the season second in the MIAA and ninth in the nation, averaging 264.4 yards per game. The Griffon offensive line paved the way for Michael Hill to average 157 yards per game which was second in the nation and first in the MIAA. Throckmorton coached First Team All- MIAA selection and All-American Macon Allan as well as Second Team All-MIAA selection Colt Schulte and Honorable Mention All-MIAA players Brian Chiles, Michael Yardley and tight end Reggie Jordan. The Griffons rushed for 3,702 yards averaging 6.2 yards per carry. In 2011, the Griffon rushing attack was almost unstoppable. Missouri Western was second in the MIAA rushing for 240.6 yards per game while running back Michael Hill led the league rushing for almost 110 yards per game. Throckmorton coached first team All-MIAA selection Macon Allan as well as honorable mention selections Colt Schulte and Brian Chiles. The Griffons rushed for 3,277 yards, averaging 5.4 yards per rush. The Griffons rushed for 1,523 yards averaging 3.4 yards per rush and 126.9 yards per game in 2010. Michael Hill and Thomas Hodges both rushed for 4.1 yards per carry a season ago. Throckmorton was the Offensive Line coach at Missouri Western from 2004-05, the second stint at his alma mater. Throckmorton was an assistant from 1990-96 and graduated from Missouri Western in 1987. Missouri Western finished 9-3 in 2005 and ranked 25th in the country. Throckmorton’s offensive line unit, which included four all-conference honorees, paved the way for All- American running back Jeremiah White who finished his career with 1,801 yards, an average of 150.1 yards per game. Prior to Missouri Western, Throckmorton spent four years as the head coach at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo. He compiled an overall record of 11-33 from 2000-03, including 7-25 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). Throckmorton’s Fort Lewis teams produced 30 All-RMAC performers, 14 academic All-RMAC selections and two RMAC Freshman of the Year award winners. The Skyhawks were one of the most dominant offensive teams in the league, leading all NCAA Division II schools in passing offense (373.5 yards per game) during the 2002 season. Prior to Fort Lewis, Throckmorton was at San Jose State, where he was an assistant coach for three seasons from 1997-99. Throckmorton spent seven years at Missouri Western from 1990-96, coaching a variety of positions for the Griffons, including wide receivers, offensive line and linebackers. He was Missouri Western’s Assistant Head Coach during the 1996 season. Throckmorton was a Graduate Assistant coach on the offensive line at the University of South Dakota in 1989. He served as the restricted earnings coach at East Tennessee State University during the spring of 1990, responsible for tight ends and tackles. A former offensive and defensive lineman, Throckmorton received his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Missouri Western in 1987. Throckmorton graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1989 with a master’s degree in physical education.
