FAQs

As one of their largest financial investments people always have a ton of questions prior to makingany decisions , below are some of the most commonplace ones…

Unless you’re a certified contractor, the majority of roofing work should not be performed yourself. In addition remember that a lot of manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof will not warranty those products unless a certified professional carries out the task. Something else to keep in mind is that working on a roof can be very dangerous, so is it really worth risking your health so you can save money?

It would be fantastic if we were able to give you a simple answer to this question! But there really is no single answer that fits all for every question like that. There are so many different products readily available and each and every one will have its own advantages and faults. To know which is the ideal roof for your home, you should have a professional come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they find, your roof design, the climate you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It really depends on the kind of roof and exactly what inspections are required. Also, keep in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we just can’t work on a number of days then this will certainly add time to the task. A smaller home could take around a week or so, while much larger industrial jobs could be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just be sure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Since your roof is continuously exposed to the outside elements, this means your roof is will degrade with time. The speed at which it deteriorates will depend on a range of factors. Those include; the grade of the initial components that were used as well as the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it will have to take from the weather, how well the roof is preserved and the type of roof. Most roofing professionals will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but that can never be promised as a result of the above issues. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You shouldn’t ever pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of taking off any covering materials that have been included to provide protection from the weather. Also, you should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they can easily also diminish the lifespan of your roof. When you speak to your roof cleaning professional, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will clear away the unsightly algae and staining without damaging the tile or shingles.

More About Kensington, MD

Kensington is a town in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. The population was 2,213 at the 2010 United States Census. Greater Kensington encompasses the entire 20895 ZIP code, with a population of 19,054.

The area around the Rock Creek basin where Kensington is located was primarily agricultural until 1873, when the B&O Railroad completed the Metropolitan Branch which traversed Montgomery County. A community arose where the new railroad line intersected the old Rockville-to-Bladensburg road. This early settlement was first known as Knowles Station. In the early 1890s, Washington, D.C. developer Brainard Warner began purchasing land parcels to build a planned Victorian community, complete with church, library and a local newspaper. Fascinated by a recent trip to London, Warner named his subdivision Kensington Park, the 10th and largest subdivision in the area which became the Town of Kensington. Upon incorporation in 1894, Warner convinced the Mayor and Council to name the town Kensington.[5] The historic core of Kensington was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as the Kensington Historic District in 1980.[6]

Naturally, with time the roofing begins to compromise from continued weather damaging. A structurally sound roofing does not crumble all at as soon as however rather falls apart piece by piece along its weak lines. Roofing examinations discover these weak points early before they spread out and trigger extreme damage to part or the entire roof.

Roofing system examinations at regular intervals root out roof problems before they can even manifest themselves; extending the lifespan of your roofing. The majority of property owners only take note of their roofs when there is noticeable damage, such as leakages and structural failure. Reality is, with routine inspection such problems are usually evaded.

Roofing system evaluations conserve you both cash and time and are among one of the most standard roofing system maintenance practices. There are numerous elements that can trigger a roof’s condition to deteriorate with time. These are the impacts homeowners are least knowledgeable about since the signs are subtle and take time to show.: Weather condition elements are the primary cause of roofing damage.

The weather slowly wears away and erodes the roofing material, and put pressure onto the roofing system structure. Poor or absence of roof maintenance practices such as cleansing, painting, mold elimination and snow scraping contribute to the wearing down of the roof. Not all roofing professionals are as great as marketed. Due to absence of ability or simply carelessness, a roof is improperly set up, affecting its efficiency as a roofing and its resilience to damage.
