FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As one of their largest investments people usually have a many questions before coming to a conclusion , below are a number of the more common ones…
Unless you’re a trained contractor, the majority of roofing work shouldn’t be carried out yourself. Also keep in mind that most manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof will not warranty those items unless a licensed roofing contractor performs the job. Something else to bear in mind is that working on a roof is going to be very risky, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health in order to save money?
It would be fantastic if we could give you a simple response to that question! But there actually is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are plenty of unique products available and each has its own benefits and faults. To determine which is the ideal roof for your home, you really should have a contractor come and take a look at your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they find, the type of roof you have, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.
It definitely depends upon the kind of roof you have and what evaluations are needed. Also, remember that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on certain days then this will definitely add more time to the job. A smaller home might take about a week or so, while much larger commercial projects may be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just make certain your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Since your roof is constantly exposed to the weather, it means your roof is going to deteriorate with time. The pace at which it deteriorates will be dependent on a variety of variables. These include; the quality of the original materials that were used as well as the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the type of roof. Most roofing professionals will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be promised because of the above factors. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should not ever pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of getting rid of any protective minerals that have been included to provide cover from the elements. Aside from that, you should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they could also reduce the life-span of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning professional, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will remove the unappealing algae and yellowing without ruining the tile or shingles.

A structurally sound roofing system does not fall apart at one time however instead falls apart piece by piece along its weak lines. Roofing evaluations detect these weak areas early prior to they spread and trigger serious damage to part or the entire roof.
Roofing system assessments at routine intervals root out roofing problems prior to they can even manifest themselves; extending the life-span of your roof. A lot of house owners just take note of their roofs when there is visible damage, such as leaks and structural failure. Fact is, with routine evaluation such issues are typically averted.

Roofing examinations save you both money and time and are among the most standard roofing maintenance practices. There are several factors that can trigger a roofing system’s condition to degrade with time. These are the effects homeowners are least familiar with because the signs are subtle and take some time to show.: Weather condition aspects are the primary reason for roofing damage.
The weather slowly wears away and deteriorates the roofing product, and put strain onto the roof structure. Poor or absence of roofing system maintenance practices such as cleaning, painting, mold elimination and snow scraping contribute to the wearing down of the roofing system. Not all roofing specialists are as great as marketed. Due to lack of ability or just carelessness, a roof is improperly installed, affecting its effectiveness as a roofing system and its strength to damage.
