FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Being one of their biggest investments people always have a ton of questions before makingany decisions , listed here are some of the more commonplace ones…

Unless you’re a trained contractor, the majority of roofing work shouldn’t be undertaken yourself. In addition always remember that a large number of manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the task. Something else to always remember is that working on a roof could be very dangerous, so is it really worth endangering your health in order to save money?

It would be fantastic if we were able to give you a simple response to this question! But there really is no one answer that fits all for each question like that. There are a lot of different products available and each will have its own benefits and faults. To determine which is the right roof for your home, you should have a professional come and examine your roof and they can make suggestions based on what they discover, the type of roof you have, the climate you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It really depends upon the kind of roof you have and exactly what inspections are mandated. Also, remember that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we just can’t work on certain days then this will add more time to the task. A smaller home could take about a week or so, whereas larger industrial jobs might be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just ensure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Given that your roof is always exposed to the weather, this means your roof is will break down gradually. The pace at which it degrades will depend upon a variety of variables. These include; the grade of the original components that were used as well as the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is taken care of and the type of roof. Most roofing contractors will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be guaranteed due to the above issues. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You shouldn’t ever pressure wash your roof, as you take the risk of removing any covering minerals that have been included to offer protection from the elements. Also, you really should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they could also diminish the life of your roof. When you speak to your roof cleaning specialist, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will get rid of the unsightly algae and discoloration without damaging the tile or shingles.

Originally called Garrison’s Landing, Bladensburg was renamed in honor of Thomas Bladen, governor of Maryland, 1742–1747. Bladensburg was established in 1742 as a regional commercial center by an act of the Maryland General Assembly. The act also authorized the town commissioners to purchase 60 acres (240,000 m2) of land to be laid out in 1-acre (4,000 m2) lots. The act required that a house covering at least 400 square feet (37 m2) of ground with a brick or stone chimney be constructed within 18 months of the sale of the lot. As of 6 June 1746, only 18 of the lots had been improved according to the stipulations of the act. Christopher Lowndes’ house, Bostwick, and those built by David Ross and William Hilleary (the William Hilleary House) were among them.[8]
