FAQs

Being one of their most significant financial investments people usually have a plenty of questions before makingany decisions , below are some of the more common ones…

Unless you are a certified roofing professional, most roofing work should not be performed yourself. In addition always remember that most manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the task. Something else to remember is that working on a roof may be very risky, so is it really worth risking your health in order to save money?

It would be really good if we could give you a straight forward answer to that question! However there actually is no one answer that fits all for each question like that. There are a lot of different products readily available and each and every one will have its own benefits and faults. To figure out which is the ideal roof for you, you really should have a professional come and take a look at your roof and they can make suggestions based on what they have seen, your roof design, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.

It really depends on the type of roof and exactly what surveys are mandated. Also, bear in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we just can’t work on certain days then this is going to add time to the task. A smaller home might take about a week or so, whereas larger commercial projects may be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just see to it your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Due to the fact that your roof is continuously exposed to the weather, it means your roof is will diminish with time. The pace at which it degrades will be dependent on a variety of variables. Those include; the grade of the original components that were used and the workmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the weather, how well the roof is maintained and the style of the roof. Most roofing contractors will quote around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but that can never be promised because of the above factors. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should never pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of getting rid of any protective materials that have been included to give cover from the elements. Aside from that, you really should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they may also diminish the lifespan of your roof. When you speak to your roof cleaning specialist, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will eliminate the unsightly algae and staining without ruining the tile or shingles.
