FAQs

Being one of their most significant financial investments people usually have a ton of questions before coming to a conclusion , below are a number of the more common ones…

Unless you’re a certified roofing professional, the majority of roofing work really should not be undertaken yourself. Additionally keep in mind that most manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a licensed professional performs the job. The other thing to remember is that working on a roof is going to be very risky, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health so you can save money?

It would be really good if we were able to give you a straight forward answer to this question! However, there actually is no one answer fits all for each question like that. There are a lot of different products readily available and each one will have its own benefits and faults. To figure out which is the right roof for your home, you should have an expert come and examine your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they find, the type of roof you have, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.

It definitely is dependent on the type of roof and exactly what evaluations are mandated. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on particular days then this will definitely add more time to the job. A smaller home may take around a week or so, whereas more substantial industrial projects may be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just ensure that your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Since your roof is continuously subjected to the outside elements, this means your roof is will diminish with time. The speed at which it deteriorates will depend on a number of variables. Those include; the grade of the initial components that were used along with the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the style of the roof. Most roofing companies will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be promised because of the above factors. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should never pressure-wash your roof, as you take the risk of removing any protective minerals that have been added to provide protection from the elements. On top of that, you should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they could also reduce the life of your roof. When you talk to your roof cleaning professional, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will get rid of the unappealing algae and discoloration without ruining the tile or shingles.
