FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being one of their most significant expenditures people usually have a number of questions before makingany decisions , below are a number of the most commonplace ones…
Unless you’re a certified roofing professional, the majority of roofing tasks really should not be carried out yourself. Additionally remember that a lot of manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those items unless a certified roofing contractor performs the task. Something else to bear in mind is that working on a roof can be very hazardous, so is it really worth risking your health in order to save money?
It would be really good if we were able to give you a straight forward answer to that question! But there really is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are so many different products available and each has its own benefits and disadvantages. To determine which is the best roof for you, you ought to have an expert come and check out your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they observe, the type of roof you have, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.
It actually is dependent on the type of roof you have and exactly what surveys are needed. Also, keep in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we can’t work on a number of days then this is going to add time to the task. A smaller home may take about a week or so, while more substantial industrial projects could be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just make sure your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Because your roof is continuously subjected to the weather, this means your roof is will deteriorate gradually. The speed at which it breaks down will be dependent on a range of variables. Those include; the quality of the original components used along with the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the design of the roof. Most roofing companies will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but obviously that can never be guaranteed due to the above variables. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You shouldn’t ever pressure wash your roof, as you take the risk of removing any covering materials that have been added to offer cover from the weather. In addition, you should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they may also reduce the life-span of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning specialist, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will eliminate the aesthetically displeasing algae and staining without damaging the tile or shingles.
