Quadshot

One of the coolest things about Kickstarter is that it gets inventors the much-needed funding they require to really polish and perfect their products. One incredibly awesome idea that is currently being pitched is Quadshot, a remote-controlled aircraft that can hover like a helicopter and glide like a plane, thanks to a unique balance-sensing microprocessor. This thing looks mad fun to fly and we're already trying to get one for the office.

Blade Symphony

With the video game industry becoming increasingly depressing to work in, it's no surprise that many talented programmers, designers and artists are looking to do things outside the system. Kickstarter has funded several seriously awesome games in the past, and one that might rank up there with them is Blade Symphony. This sweet third-person action game is already in Beta and testers rave about the intense swordplay it offers. Developed in the Source engine, the game is still not complete, and the developers at Puny Human Games are raising funds to include more characters, more weapons, and more game modes to make it an even better product.

Patient Zero

Zombie movies are a dime a dozen, but isn't it about time we injected some new talent into the mix? Director Rob Sholty thinks so, and he's betting his life savings on Patient Zero, but he needs a little help from you. The movie takes a different look at the zombie apocalypse, telling the tale of the first person to get infected with the zombie virus and how he leads to the downfall of society. The flick is set to go into production in October.

Lucha Libre

Kickstarter has also proven itself to be an awesome venue for artistic endeavors - installations, books and more have been funded by the wisdom of the crowd. One that I am really hoping makes it is Scottish photographer Mark Mann's Lucha Libre project, where he wants to take his vintage Graflex camera from the 1940s to Mexico City to photograph the masked wrestlers of Lucha Libre. The dude is an awesome photographer, and by funding this you can get your hands on prints from the shoot and more.

Ninja Baseball

Another cool thing about Kickstarter is that it gives less experienced people a chance to get their ideas out to the mass market without having to compromise them. The team behind Ninja Baseball studied game development at the Guildhall and worked for several years with major companies, but decided that the time was right to try to make it on their own. The game looks like a fun, funny, violent take on America's pastime, and if you pledge at least $50 you can get a real throwing star as a special incentive. Who doesn't love throwing stars?
