The Best Collector Cups

Sure, not too may remember the film adaptation of The Rocketeer very fondly, but lots of people remember the collector cup. Issued by Pizza Hut to tie in with the movie, this is one of the best collector cups ever made. The body of the cup was screen-printed to look like the hero's face mask, and the topper was custom-molded to resemble his unique ridged helmet. It's like you're drinking his brains!

I have a soft spot in my heart for these Masters Of The Universe collectible cups. If you remember, each one of the toys came with an awesome little comic book that introduced the character, and these cups take a similar tack. But because the printing on plastic is so chunky, they get a sort of Roy Liechtenstein pop-art look to them that is complemented by the fact that they tell an entire story in just three drawings. Only one of the best collector cups is capable of such a feat.

The Burger Chef chain is just one of the many casualties of the McDonalds juggernaut, but when they were in business they made some truly excellent burgers. They also had great promotional items, as evidenced by these ass-kicking King Kong glasses. Released to cash in on the 1976 Dino De Laurentiis remake, the artwork on these is just out of this world, looking like classic monster movie posters. You will be missed, Burger Chef, but your King Kong swag will be remembered as some of the best collector cups ever.

This Taco Bell promotion isn't one of the best collector cups, but it is one of the best collector cup holders. It was for the absolutely horrid American Godzilla remake that starred Matthew Broderick, and yet, it's still so freaking cool that it earned a spot on this list. The titular reptile coils around your beverage of choice, contaminating it with latent radiation as you drive. That's just badass.
