WWE Monday Night Raw 3/5/2012 - The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

HBK stirred the pot, The Rock wore a funny hat and John Cena won over the crowd on this week's Monday Night Raw. Aubrey Sitterson breaks down all of thise and more in this week's WWE Monday Night Raw: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

The second least interesting story in WWE right now (sorry “Isn’t Eve totally a bitch!?”) is the ongoing feud between Raw General Manager John Laurinaitis and SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long. But, if the idea is to show how totally inept Johnny Ace is, and how great the Holla-Holla-Playa-in-Chief is at running wrestling shows, WWE absolutely nailed it this week, with a Monday Night Raw that was run by he-of-the-idiotically-large-suits himself, and was also pretty darn rad.

Still, the show was two hours and had, if I remember correctly, 37 different pretape segments, so it wasn’t ALL good, of course. In fact, there were some moments that might be considered “bad,” and others that you might even think of as “ugly.” To find out what they are, keep on reading below, and make sure to tell me how wrong and/or handsome I am in the comments section. Then, to make sure other people can get in on it: 1) Like us on Facebook, 2) Tweet the link out on Twitter, and of course, 3) Follow Aubrey Sitterson on Twitter, where it’s now been 17 days since my last leaked nude tweet.

Good – I’m A Cena Fan, Deal With It

For the second week in a row, John Cena totally sonned the Rock on the microphone. Cena called his WrestleMania opponent “The Situation,” he referenced a midlife crisis, he mentioned excessive Twitter references and how shook up the Rock was last week, he even made fun of his own kneepads, beating snarky internet commenters to the punch. John Cena stepped in and gave voice to all the complaints people like myself have about the Rock 2012, right down to his repetitive, nonsensical, unending Chinese fast food-based promos. Best of all, Cena actually managed to do something truly incredible: He got the crowd behind him.

Cena is one of the best workers in WWE right now, can have a good match with anyone, and just as importantly, can make anyone look good. People are dying to like this guy, they just need a reason, and by unleashing him on the microphone these past few weeks, WWE is finally giving folks one. Even when the Rock came out and proceeded to get as vicious on Cena as he could, leaving immediately afterward, Cena brought the crowd back to his side quicker and more effectively than the Rock did the week before, and without all the stammering and bumbling. And unlike the Rock, he did it not with senseless catchphrases, but by cutting a promo that people understand and can connect with. I can’t wait for Rock vs. Cena.
