Wonder Woman's Short Life Gets Even Shorter

Despite NBC having passed on the series, pictures of star Adrianne Palicki wearing the iconic Wonder Woman short shorts have made their way to the internet.

NBC passing on the David E. Kelley / Adrianne Palicki starring Wonder Woman reboot is not among one of the greater losses of our generation.  Fans heavily criticized both published images of the superhero's costume, as well as leaked script pages, audition tapes and the rewrites added to make the character more badass.

So what then was the real tragedy?  We already knew that the series wouldn't be utilizing the classic costume, but NBC President Robert Greenblatt assured fans the classic short-shorts would at the very least be seen as an outfit among Diana's wardrobe.  Well, crew member Christopher Cooley tweeted out a shot of star Adrianne Palicki in the full (or should we say short?) costume, and in a word?

Damn.

I mean good gravy, folks.  NBC likely spared us a season's worth of headaches by not picking up the well-publicized reboot, but I'd pay the production costs myself if it meant more time watching Adrianne Palicki in what could barely even be called shorts.  The actress looks so superbly fantastic in the classic Lynda Carter-styled outfit, I barely even noticed Lord Voldemort in the picture.

It's not to say that we may never see the series' pilot or said shorts in motion, per say.  The CW similarly passed on a live-action adaptation of Aquaman before releasing its pilot through iTunes.

Written by former Ally McBeal scribe Kelley, the rebooted series followed former Friday Night Lights star Adrianne Palicki as Diana Prince, vigilante crimefighter leading a double (or triple) life as a successful corporate executive and Princess of Themyscira. As mentioned, several scripted scenes and even audition tapes had previously leaked giving small preview of what to expect.

Wonder Woman's pilot also starred former Knight Rider Justin Bruening as Steve Trevor, Elizabeth Hurley as the villainous Veronica Cale, as well as Saw and The Princess Bride star Cary Elwes, and Tracie Thoms as Etta, Diana's personal assistant.

What say you?  Would you at least want to see the pilot episode of Wonder Woman, if only for the wonder of Adrianne Palicki in short shorts?  Lasso up your thoughts below!
