Condolences Dollhouse fans. Though I wasn't a fan of the series, I know what it's like to lose a show you love (My So Called Life! Oh, the agony!!!). And judging from the outpouring of emotion on Twitter yesterday afternoon ("FOX cancelled Dollhouse. You suck FOX!," "No!!!! FOX you suck balls," "how can they cancel #dollhouse. Death to fox!" etc...) folks are taking it pretty hard. Whedon was quick to address the news, posting his thoughts on Whedonesque After offering words of praise to the show's cast and crew, Whedon laid out his plans for the immediate future - "I'm off to pursue internet ventures/binge drinking. Possibly that relaxation thing I've read so much about. By the time the last episode airs, you'll know what my next project is. But for now there's a lot of work still to be done, and disappointment to bear." FOX has committed to airing the remaining episodes in Dollhouse's thirteen episode order, two at a time, beginning December 4th.
- Balloon Boy's inept parents will plead guilty to acting like money hungry, narcassitic a**holes among other, more concrete charges. (MSNBC)
- Sons of Anarchy continues to ride tall, pulling in 3.38 million viewers, making it the most watched basic cable show on Tuesday night. (TV By The Numbers)
- Whedon fans, a light at the end of the tunnel! Work on the Dr. Horrible sequel will commence when Dollhouse ends its run, with Joss, Zack, Jed and Mo all on board! (SCI FI Wire)
- In all this Dollhouse hullabaloo we completely overlooked the news that Kelsey Grammer's ABC sitcom Hank also got the ax. Sadly, "Save Hank" twitter campaign not trending so high...(Variety)
Hope you've cleared out your DVR's for the weekly Thursday night clusterfrak! FlashForward, Suvivor, Bones, Community and The Vampire Diaries battle it out at 8pm. I'll be watching Survivor (great this season!) and FlashForward (meh). At 9pm we've got Fringe, Supernatural, Grey's Anatomy, CSI and The Office. Fringe for me, maybe get in a little Office. At 10pm it's The Mentalist on CBS and Private Practice on ABC. And finally, your nightly dose of Leno on NBC, which I hear is a great sleep aid.
