Happy Friday,

I sit here today, contemplating breaking up with one of my favorite shows of the past few years. The Office is choking to death on its own boredom with itself. I could go on for thousands of words about why it's not funny, but at the end of the day, there's a really simple metric to judge shows on. Does it make you laugh? And I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud with (or at) the Dunder Miflin crew.

However, maybe the producers sense my malaise. Because they've given us some new blood in the form of a new receptionist. (And Stringer Bell!) This is Ellie Kemper. I think I love her. Not only is she a talented UCB alum, she's easy on the eyes. Check out her very funny clip roll at Funny Or Die. You've brought me off the edge, Ellie. For now.

  • Speaking of NBC, they had a few premieres last night. Not many tuned into Amy Poehler's Parks and Recreation. But the new LA cop drama, Southland did well. My review here. (The Live Feed)

  • I hope everyone saw the episode on Wednesday. But here's Kanyeezy's response to his skewering on Southpark. Do ya'll like fish sticks? (KanyeUniverseCity)

  • More Southpark: The answer is definitely Bono. (HIPSTERRUNOFF)

  • A closer inspection of those Simpsons stamps from yesterday. (TV Squad)

  • Ugh. A reality-show Gossip Girl. (TV Week)

  • Nothing informs me that any of these will be any good. But folks have at least been telling me not to sleep on Stargate Universe. Here's a look at some new sci-fi shows on our horizon. (io9)

  • I talked about this last week, but here's a more in-depth story about the CMO of Verizon and the implementation of direct advertising beamed specifically for your demographic to your TV. (AdAge)

  • The numbers are in and CBS did insane online traffic for its NCAA Tournament coverage. (Washington Post)

  • This is scary news if you're a big farter. Have a nice weekend everyone. (MSNBC)
