Who We're Watching - 03/19/09

Statistics (i.e. anecdotal conversations overheard at my desk this morning) tell us that the first two days of the Men's NCAA Tournament are some of the highest "sick days" for the American workforce every year. Thirty two games in two days is a lot to soak in. But it's still TV, so I'm going to talk about it. Stuck at work like me? Well, besides an extra long lunch at the wing place across the street today (My boss in on a cruise, natch), you can head on over to CBS's March Madness On-Demand which is just about the most beautiful thing the internet has ever invented. More on my Noles tomorrow.

A few Lost questions from last night before we begin. Why the hell is Sun not in 1977 with the rest of the Oceanic 6? Ben too? And wasn't Radzinsky the guy who originally created the map in the Hatch, before staining his cranium all over the ceiling? Since it's basketball day, I'll defer to my favorite sports blog, The Big Lead to decipher and discuss last night's head-scratcher.

  • The Hollywood Reporter has a story this morning about Freddy Prinze Jr., of I Know What You Did Last Summer-fame, signing on for the ABC pilot, No Heroics. Money quote:
ABC Studios' "Heroics" revolves around four B-list superheroes -- three of them played by Paul Campbell, Eliza Coupe and Arielle Kebbel -- living among us.
  • The guilty pleasure, VH1's Behind the Music, is graduating from rehab and going back on tour this year. Reuters has the story. (via Hollywood Reporter)

  • BIG NEWS for The Office this week. Cinema Blend has the story of Michael Scott's new boss in the form of guest-star, Idris Elba. That's right, muf*ckas, Stringer Bell is back on TV.
  • Gearing up for the big finale of Battlestar Galactica this weekend? TV Addict has an open letter to Ronald D. Moore you might find frakkin' interesting.
  • More Lost news - That Radzinsky fella is already causing problems. Doc Arzt blog has some SPOILERS!!! about the fiesty Flame-operator's multi-episode arc.
  • When I moved into my loft, the first thing I noticed was a pretty racy portfolio of photography by Terry Richardson, from the kinky Taschen book store. Richardson gets his subjects to do some outlandish things in his photos...like this incredible Rollingstone set from the Gossip Girls. Well done, sir.
  • Finally, an extra dose of Lost. Via Videogum, The Lost Season 5 drinking game.
