Look alive, Zombies -- the undead apocalypse is trudging your way this October on AMC!
According to a report over at Dread Central, AMC has officially announced that they have ordered up six original episodes of The Walking Dead, based on Robert Kirkman's fan-favorite series about the months and years after a zombie plague wiped out civilization as we know it. Likewise, the network also announced that production will begin this summer in Atlanta, and is currently slated to debut during AMC's annual "Fearfest" -- the October event usually coinciding with Halloween and marked by horror and thriller flicks.
As previously reported, Frank Darabont will serve as the project's writer and director, and will also share executive producer credits with David Alpert and Gale Anne Hurd.
