TV Shows That Should Have Died

Exciting as it is to have a show with lots of singing and dancing, the novelty is wasted if the TV show is no good, and by no test known to man is Glee a good TV show. They don't even get the singing and dancing part right.

The characters in Glee have been inconsistent from day one, giving the audience no clear understanding of who they are. The show likes to ramp up the melodrama, but, with no stable foundation to lay it on, it all falls flat. It finds more success with its comedy thanks to Jane Lynch's participation, but the show is not satisfied with its own campy absurdity to make it anything other than occasionally not annoying. Glee should never have gotten a second season.

We're all supposed to like The Walking Dead. It's a zombie show with really well done gore and it's based on a comic many are fond of, but, every Sunday night, all people can do is complain about how disappointing it was. Zombies or no, The Walking Dead is simply a bad TV show.

When its characters aren't completely bland, they're going far out of their way to put themselves in danger in ways no one at home can relate to. In fact, the shows most villainous character, Shane, seems to be an audience favorite simply because he's the only character who's not completely idiotic. We all want our zombies, but that doesn't mean we should settle for a sub-par delivery system.

A lot of people swear by True Blood, but to non-believers the entire thing looks like a very expensive practical joke. The crazy sex and gore is an understandable draw, but everything else about the show looks way too silly to take seriously. From the overdone southern accents to the fact that Anna Paquin plays a character named Sookie, True Blood is filled with little details that confuse those not taken in by its charms, though there seems to be fewer and fewer of us as the series continues.

Family Guy does what it does and we can all identify what makes it tick. American Dad! does its own decidedly more strange thing and we have room for that, too. So, what exactly does The Cleveland Show offer? 

Despite the fact that the main family is black and Cleveland is a little more likable than Peter Griffin, nothing really separates this show from its cousins. Just because a guy says he can produce three shows at the same time doesn't mean he has to fill up a valuable half-hour of prime time television to prove it. People may say they like it, but it's doubtful they'd miss The Cleveland Show if it never made it to a second season.
