True Blood Season Three: Solving Sookie's Secrets

It wouldn't be a new season of HBO's True Blood without a healthy dose of mysteries (and crazy vampire orgies, of course), but one question that's been left unanswered may finally be revealed this season: who -- or rather, what -- is Sookie?

It wouldn't be a new season of True Blood without a sexy southern mystery involved, but from the looks of things, fans might be getting an answer to one of the biggest questions plaguing the show: just who -- or rather, what -- is Sookie (Anna Paquin)?

Recently, the folks over at Buddy TV sat down with series creator Alan Ball, who hinted that, "Sookie has a stronger genetic predisposition in another direction. People who have read the books know exactly what I'm talking about. People who haven't, it will be revealed." In other words, all you Fangbangers who wanna spoil the surprise should dust off those library cards.

Another clue as to Sookie's true nature could be revealed in her budding relationship with the werewolf Alcide (Joe Manganiello) as they hunt for Sookie's kidnapped beau, Bill Compton, after he'd proposed to Sookie.

"There is definitely some [sexual] energy between the two of them," hinted Ball in an interview with Michael Ausiello. "It's not like either one of them is looking for romance, but they're thrown into several intense situations [and] it's hard not to bond on a deeper level."
