The first season of The
Walking Dead hit the television landscape like a punch in the gut. In just
six episodes, The Walking Dead provided
some of the most visceral, disturbing horror ever displayed on the small
screen. Family members, friends, horses — no character was safe on AMC's
zombie-centric new series. But the show wasn't just about schlock. It was The Walking Dead's fleshed-out cast and
its tear-inducing storylines that set it so far ahead of the pack. As a result,
the show earned top-tier Golden Globe and Emmy Nominations, as well as the AFI
award for "AFI TV Programme of the Year."
None of this would have been possible, however, without
Robert Kirkman's fantastic source material. Kirkman's tightly-written tale of
survival is one of the best examples of comics as high art. Although we
understand — and appreciate — the narrative deviations the show has taken thus far,
some of Kirkman's work is just too good to cut out. Here are The Walking Dead Season 2 Must Have Moments we want to see translated from page to screen.
What moments will make the season premiere? You'll have to watch Oct. 16 at 8/9c to find out yourself!
Beware, plenty of spoilers to follow!
