The search for Dr. Emmet Cole continues and the crew encounters a whole new slew of magical beings that would make anyone jump overboard and make the water around them turn yellow. As they travel deeper into the exotic Amazon they're faced with a new supernatural enemy with every step they take. In the last two episodes, the family and TV crew had the unfortunate pleasure of bumping into tribal folk with stealth abilities and, worst of all, nature itself. In spite of these seemingly slim odds of survival, they make a discovery that could greatly aid their search for the missing Emmet Cole. Watching You Sleep |
I have no idea how Cole's family and the rest of cast can camp in the jungle and sleep overnight after everything they've encountered. They now know ghosts, spirits, and so much more are real, and to top it off, the supernatural beings can prove to be pretty damn temperamental, even killing one of the cameramen. Needless to say, they should be sufficiently creeped out when they wake up and discover that the Morcegos lurked around and left some markings while they were fast asleep.

Even when sleeping in the comfort of their own boat the crew is far from safe. A few bugs flying around the ship isn't anything out of the ordinary, but it's seriously messed up when one of them goes into your mouth while you sleep and then controls your body. This happened to Jahel Valenzuela. To make things even crazier, it was apparently Emmet Cole possessing her, telling his wife "they have me," and to leave him behind.

The jungle is a bright and beautiful place during the day, if you choose to ignore all of the creatures lurking around that want you dead, that is. The crew, however, needs to head into a suspiciously scary looking cave. The lead cameraman, A.J. Poulain, reveals that there's no way in hell he's stepping a foot in the cave. This was one trip that actually wouldn't have hurt him. Spooked him a bit, but that's about it. The group bumps into a gruesome body. The corpse was disemboweled and the eyes and heart were cut out courtesy of the delightful Morcegos.

The Morcegos decide to mess with Capt. Kurt Brynildson and play a little hide and seek with him. It's clear they're coming after the crew, and Brynildson has no idea where to look when he hears noises shuffling all around the boat. The Morcegos decide to pull a Godfather on the group and toss the head of a boar (that Brynildson previously shot) at the boat. He aims his assault rifle every which way, but the man never has an opportunity to fire a shot. He does, however, stab the producer. Way to fail, Kurt.

Having superior technology doesn't mean a thing when your enemy can't be seen. A gun is no good if you can't see your target, and on top of the Morcego's ninja-like stealth abilities, they've gone the extra measure and blinded the crew too. Only when the characters are blinded and trapped in the ship do the Morcego's decide to reveal themselves and the (gazillion) cameras set up catch a few spooky glimpses of the tribal folk boarding the ship as they prepare to close in on their targets.
