25 | More Cowbell |
It's kind of awesome that some of Saturday Night Live's best moments come with the most unlikely guest hosts. Fine example: cult actor Christopher Walken, who rocketed into all-time best lists with this bizarre sketch. As producer Bruce Dickinson, he repeatedly interrupts hard rock legends Blue Oyster Cult as they record their greatest hit, "Don't Fear The Reaper," with requests for "more cowbell." Couple it with a classic Will Ferrell performance (he also wrote the sketch) and we're sold.
24 | Asspennies |
This classic Upright Citizens Brigade sketch from their short-lived TV show really proved why the NYC-based improv troupe would become the breeding ground for the hot comedians of the future. Combining a seriously gross premise with a ludicrously straight-faced presentation, it just gets funnier the more times you watch it.
23 | Head Crusher |
You can probably tell that we have a fondness for the absurdist bits here, and while recurring characters are usually the death of sketch comedy, the Head Crusher from Kids In The Hall is the exception to that rule. This gleeful psychopath who used the power of perspective to mash the heads of those who angered him will always make us laugh.
