Hardcore LOST fans might be aware of the yearly ritual of premiering the show at Hawaii's "Sunset on the Beach" outdoor theater. Last season, during a strike jilted premiere the opening was canceled, this year, sadly, the event will most likely not be going forward either. Sources are telling me that "Sunset on the Beach" was never a guaranteed event anyways, since ABC typically does not plan such events for its shows. A bummer really only if you live in Hawaii or have too much disposable cash on your hands. So, that's not really all that exciting, right? Well here are a few things that might be a little more intriguing for LOST fans. But beware, possible spoilers lay ahead.
First up, filming on the LOST centric episode "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham," which may or may not be the last we'll see of Terry O'Quinn's John Locke character for a while, included filming of a massive car crash involving Locke. Earlier spy reports indicated that Locke indeed loses the ability to walk in this episode.
Next, and brace yourself for this one, top secret filming has been going on in Hawaii's valley regions and despite tight security a few set stalkers have reported that the filming involves several members of the Oceanic 6 looking very much like they are back on the island. This could be a flash back, or even a flash-forward, but either way it is the first confirmation no matter how tenuous of LOST's split cast reuniting on The Island. Of course, we'll have to wait till well into season 5 to know for sure what this means.
