Haven't you ever watched Clerks, and thought to yourself "boy, someone needs to make a reality show out of this, quick!"  No?  Well, that's what you're getting!  In a manner of speaking.

Today, IGN reports that Kevin Smith has announced plans with AMC (Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead) to develop and executive produce a reality TV series based on two men running a comic book shop.  And not just any comic book shop mind you, but Kevin Smith's own "Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash" in Redbank, New Jersey!

A casting notice appeared on Original Media's Facebook page, which notes that the production is seeking male or female comic book fans, not actors, age 21-35 from the tri-state area.  According to the report, Smith's criteria dictate that he's:

"Not looking for actors, he's looking for real people who live and breath the comic book lifestyle. Must be funny outgoing and have a knowledge and passion for comics, superheroes, movie memorabilia and everything that goes with it."

Additionally the call indicates that those with "cool, unique, rare, or otherwise awesome comic book/movie memorabilia" should contact them as well for a special fanboys edition of Pawn Stars.  The as-yet-untitled Kevin Smith series isn't AMC's only reality show in the pipeline, also currently developing Inside the DHS about the Department of Homeland Security, and Pitch going behind the scenes of ad agencies, a la Mad Men.

What say you?  Do you have what it takes to run Kevin Smith's Secret Stash and be the next reality TV star?  Follow the casting call, and give us your thoughts in the comments below!
