People say funny things on TV all the time. What if we took that stuff and put it on a t-shirt? That's a multi-millionaire dollar industry right there. We'd be Shamow and Snuggie-rich! So, let's fire up the ole' silkscreen machine in the basement we used to print our crappy band's t-shirts with and make something worth wearing!
Considering how into The Office boss Michael Scott is to
catchphrases, you'd think the show was tailor-made (pun very clearly intended)
for T-shirts. But most of The Office's humor comes from long awkward pauses,
long awkward exchanges, and awkward glances towards the camera - not the best
fodder for a T-shirt (though I'd definitely wear one that said "Awkward Glance
To The Camera"). No worries, though! We've scoured all six seasons to come up
with the most T-shirt ready quotes... Even if you wouldn't be able to wear these
to work:
"Scissor Me!"
Michael Scott's insanely dangerous scissor catching trick is
also perfect attire for, let's say, certain bars. You know the ones. Lesbian
bars. Because scissoring is a lesbian sex thing. FYI.
"That's What She
Said"
It's almost too easy (that's what she said), but imagine how
great it would be to respond without using your mouth (that's what she said),
and instead show off your chest (that's what she said)?
"Happy Birthday,
Jesus. Sorry Your Party Is So Lame!"
Has there ever been a more perfect slogan for Hipster
Christmas? Maybe "He Died For Your Presents," but that's about it.
"Blah... Little
Comment."
Though it loses a little something with Rainn Wilson's "spot
on" impersonation of John Krasinski, it gains something as a deconstruction of
slogan T-Shirts.
"It's On Like a Prawn
Who Yawns at Dawn"
Ed Helms rhythmic catchphrase should, if there's any
justice, overtake "Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez" as the New Orleans shirt slogan of choice.
"Those are the money
beets."
That's what she said.
So what's your favorite Office-ism, TV fans?
