How I Met Your Mother's Best Moments

How I Met Your Mother's best moments have been sprinkled across six seasons and we've got the very best from Marshall, Lily, Barney, Ted and Robin.

How I Met Your Mother has given us so many great moments from 2005 till now and shows no signs of stopping, with the series being renewed until at least 2013. While some of you may be asking the question of "how much longer can the writers drag out introducing the mother," identity isn't the heart of the series. Unlike LOST, How I Met Your Mother won't frustrate you with its long-running mysteries, provided they keep up their best moments!

So what How I Met Your Mother moments have had you rolling on the floor? We're all anxiously awaiting Marshall's fifth and final slap to Barney, but, from the four that came before it, we'd be hard pressed to choose just one. Robin Sparkles' "Let's Go to the Mall" still echoes in our minds, and we don't even have to have "eaten any sandwiches" to giggle uncontrollably at the idea of Cobie Smulders in 80s garb.

More than gut-busting and legend... wait for it... DARY humor, How I Met Your Mother has also delivered sweet and memorable moments that unlock the inner "aw" of even the bro-iest of bros. So forget about a high-five, we've got eleven of the best moments from the entire series that make us forget all about the fact that it's taken 6 years to find out who's under a yellow umbrella! Grab a Wharmpess from the fridge, light up a hot sandwich and re-live some of the greatest moments of How I Met Your Mother.

Girls Versus Suits

When it comes to a battle of Barney's elegant suits vs. sleeping with Stacey Keibler, who do you think is going to win? Suits, obviously.

How I Met Your Mother's landmark 100th episode didn't ask too many thought-provoking questions of the over-arching mythology. It just divided its time between Barney's conundrum and a quick glimpse at the mother via Ted dating her roommate. In addition, this episode finally utilized Neil Patrick Harris' Broadway skills for a toe-tapping ode to suits primed us for another 100 episodes.

Swarley

Sure, some will tell you that Lily and Marshall's wedding proved the sweeter affair, but the early uncertainty of whether or not the couple would make it really cemented in "Swarley." "Swarley" gave us some great glimpses of genuine emotion between the pair by showing the insane lengths Lily went to to break up Marshall's date (with a super hot Morena Baccarin, no less).

While we're a little biased, it's hard to silence our inner Whedon geeking at both the presence of Morena Baccarin and the brief interaction of Alyson Hannigan and Tom Lenk (Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Andrew).

Slapsgiving

There will never come a time in which we don't enjoy watching Jason Segel slap Neil Patrick Harris. Each slap brings the famous How I Met Your Mother gag closer to its end, as producers went all out for the third outing by setting up an actual "Slap Countdown" that preceded "Slapsgiving." Not only that, but we love the musical moments behind the series and Jason Segel's immortal "You Just Got Slapped."

Oh, and some other schmaltzy stuff about Robin and Ted, too.

The Goat

Don't let the episode's title fool you. We wouldn't actually see the story of the goat until the fourth season finale, but the episode picked up right after the bombshell of Robin sleeping with Barney in "Sandcastles in the Sand."

"The Goat" dipped into some stranger and more emotional content than usual with Barney and Ted's final fight, and the time-twisting reveal of Ted misremembering the events as his 30th birthday. Provided you didn't get lost in the time line, bromance never again felt such a raw end.

The Best Burger in New York

We all have our own opinions of the best food in New York, and we've all been through the heartbreak of being unable to re-locate that one perfect place we went to that one perfect time. Still, its the journey that counts, and we never stopped smiling at Marshall's ridiculous quest to find the perfect burger, Robin's torturous inability to have even one bite before being whisked away, or Regis Philbin's deranged intensity to find his own perfect happiness. Was anyone else unnerved by how physically fit the 79-year old seemed?

When all is said and done, be warned. You'll conjure a serious case of the munchies just watching.
