The Simpsons - "The Real Housewives of Fat Tony"

Given their lengthy animation process, The Simpsons often find themselves in a difficult position toward remaining culturally relevent.

So while 2011's "The Real Housewives of Fat Tony" may have acerbically lampooned the Jersey Shore cast as relatives of Fat Tony, the jokes feel somewhat dated considering the over-saturation of Snookie and the gang.  We're sure they'll hit Amy Winehouse jokes by 2017.

South Park - "It's a Jersey Thing"

See, now this is how you make a Jersey Shore parody when you're diving in past the cultural prime.  Satirizing the concept from the inside out, Kyle discovers his family's origins in New Jersey and quickly becomes entangled in the wider-spreading phenomenon of Jersey Shore, while Matt Stone and Trey Parker offer the most accurate rendition of Nicole "Snookie" Polizzi to date.

Plus, we'll take any excuse to watch The Situation beaten to a bloody pulp.

True Life: I'm A Jersey Shore Girl

Perhaps sparking MTV's initial interest in the Jersey Shore culture, the 2004 episode of True Life featuring a gaggle of girls and guys along the boardwalk gave the public their first real taste of the inclusive world permeating the New Jersey shoreline

Tragically, this ensured society would continue to invest in this haven rather than deploy a nuclear arsenal.  Extreme, but fair.

Geordie Shore

We're not even sure if they're actually Italian, but when MTV commissions a British adaptation of one of their own series (because UK-to-US always goes so well, let alone the reverse), you know Guido-ism has reached a boiling point of saturation.  "We are engaged in travelling to the Geordie Shore, git!"  Yeesh.

Judge for yourself with this trailer.

Arthur Fonzarelli

Perhaps the progenitor of the entire culture, "homo-guidus," as you will, 'twas Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli himself, who first paved the way for the sterotypical TV italian with sharp clothing, sharper hair, and the universal ability to push television long past the point of coherency by literally, and figuratively jumping the shark.

Now if only we could set sharks loose in the Jersey Shore itself, we'd be making progress.
