Fall TV Sci-Fi Preview

Fall TV brings sci-fi out of this world this year, and UGO guides you through the sci-fi series you'll want to watch in 2011.

Sci-fi fans will have their fill this fall as network TV kicks back into high gear and major outlets are eager to both resume their biggest properties and build an audience. As long as audiences are looking for a little escapism, what better than a fall TV sci-fi preview to send their imaginations into orbit?

Last May we were left with burning questions from our favorite sci-fi TV shows, everything from where in the universe Fringe's Peter Bishop disappeared to, to how we'd worship our new lord and savior Castiel in Supernatural. We can't wait to see the trippy and clever ways that writers will answer the fall TV cliffhangers we want to resolve; they have us all on the edge of our seats waiting for a fresh dose of sci-fi

Plenty of brand new series also stoke the sci-fi fires, moving even further into the realm of fantasy; this trend reflects the increasingly epic storytelling capabilities of TV. FOX's Terra Nova will likely prove one of the biggest names in sci-fi this fall, but even CBS's smaller scale Person of Interest has a substantial amount of buzz going for it.

What sci-fi shows have you ready to blast into orbit? Are you waiting to see where the TARDIS takes Doctor Who next, or are you ready to hit the road in the Impala with the Winchester brothers? Is your fall TV lineup nothing but an American Horror Story? Give us your fall TV sci-fi preview picks in the comments below!

Fall TV Sci-Fi Preview

American Horror Story

Premiere: Wednesday, Oct. 5 on FX

How often to you get to watch a straight-up supernatural horror mystery as an ongoing TV series? Our interest is peaked by all the creepy ad campaigns and buzz surrounding American Horror Story.

Considering Ryan Murphy created and developed the series, we're also hoping his darker writing instincts present in Nip/Tuck but shamefully absent from Glee return with a vengeance for this disturbing thriller.
