Fall TV brings plenty of new series and new faces this year, but also offers up plenty of nostalgia for the TV of yesteryear. Whether its that actor we’re used to seeing on another show, the latest high-concept series to remind us of LOST or even the next great remake, our Fall TV nostalgia is at an all-time high.
So even if Hollywood isn’t making anything new anymore, could that really be such a bad thing? We always appreciate an element of familiarity to help us latch on to a new Fall TV series. Think of it as useful nostalgia rather than recycling. Remakes are all the rage these days, and many manage to take their source material in intriguing new directions rather than recycling what’s been done.
This fall at least one nostalgic remake will hit the airwaves alongside CBS’s Hawaii Five-0, as three new ladies strike an iconic pose for ABC’s remake of Charlie’s Angels. Other remakes even hop the pond, like we’re seeing with NBC’s import of UK comedy Free Agents. And forget about remakes, Beavis and Butthead are just plain back on the air!
So which Fall TV shows have you feeling the most nostalgic? Will you tune in the new Charlie’s Angels, the LOST reunion of Hawaii Five-O’s Daniel Dae Kim and Terry O’Quinn, or the final season of Chuck? The grown up in you might like NBC’s The Playboy Club, but the kid in you wants to see the classic characters brought on to Star Wars: The Clone Wars!
