Well, it certainly didn't take long after the finale of the fourth season of Dexter for season five rumors to start popping up, and what better source of juicy tidbits than the show's executive producer, Sara Colleton?

Colleton recently sat down with EW's Ausiello Files to take on the burning questions, and gives fans something rarely seen in these types of interviews -- actual answers. Consider yourself Spoiler Alerted!

In terms of where season five will pick up, poor Rita's body won't even be cold before Dexter goes back into action...in a sense. "We uniformly decided that we don’t want to jump ahead," stated Colleton. "We need to see Dexter go through the process that we’d all have to go through if such a horrible thing had happened to us. We need to see him doing everything from the big emotional things like grieving the loss, to the mundane things like arranging a funeral, getting the kids dressed, and all the other things that are usually done for men because their wives or mothers do them."

Will Dexter be facing off against another Trinity-esque villain? Colleton seems to agree with most fans that Arthur Mitchell (played brilliantly by John Lithgow) will be a tough act to follow, and maybe it's time for Dex to deal with his own demons. "If there was ever a year that we could take a step back from the Big Bad formula and go deeper into Dexter and his psychology, this would be that year. That said, Dexter has a dark passenger that won’t go away no matter how much he yearns to be normal. That rears up and needs to be dealt with."

Lastly, with Rita no longer around, will Dexter be able to move on? "Anything is possible, but I don’t think Dexter will be in the mood for dating or love anytime soon," hints Colleton.
