Here it is, the moment you've been waiting for!  Game of Thrones comes to San Diego Comic-Con, moderated by George R.R. Martin himself!

As near the entire cast comes out, UGO is on hand to give all the coming details from the second season, adapted from the second book in the Song of Ice and Fire series, A Clash of Kings!

Check it out:

  • Hey, it's that George R.R. Martin fella!  Awarded a rousing applause, no less. "You lucky few, who managed to get in here."
  • Emilia Clarke admits that drama school left her completely unprepared for the scale of Game of Thrones, but that she loved throwing herself into the part, not being recognized outside all that much, on account of the hair.
  • Martin asks Nikolaj, through a career of good reviews and bad, did anything prepare him for the Internet discussion of his nose?  Nikolaj rememebers a drunken lighting crew member who once told him, "When I saw that nose I thought shit, I'm in trouble."
  • Who would win, Khal Drogo or Conan? Jason Momoa says, "Between you and me, Khal Drogo would kick Conan's ass."  He's even wearing the Drogo makeup!
  • What can fans expect on the DVD Blu-ray release?  Interestingly there aren't any deleted scenes to even show!  But there will be "amazing" supplementary material, art from Will Simpson. David Benioff is most excited about the first auditions of the cast, particularly Jason Momoa and his performance of the "haka" dance in the audition.  Benioff hadn't heard of Jason Momoa until he actually found the name suggested for Khal Drogo on the Internet community!
  • Emilia confessed her favorite scene to shoot was the season's final shot of her with the dragons...which we also love, for its gratuitous, gratuitous nudity.  Bless you, Emilia Clarke.
  • Jason Momoa joked about how much he hated George R.R. Martin to discover that Khal Drogo died in the books, but Martin admits "Who knows, he may have a twin brother somewhere...."
  • George really looks to involve people's emotions in his writing, even if it means killing off fan favorite characters.
  • How would Peter Dinklage end the series, given his choice?  Two words.  "Dance number."
  • What can we expect from the second season?  Readers know much of what to expect, but "if we're lucky enough, if we have a season three, it won't correspond with the books as nicely, a sword of storms is just too long."  It's time to meet the Red Priestess and start to see those dragons and wolves grow up!  It's a season of exploration, all leading up to the famous scene "RW (he wouldn't say, to not alienate fans who haven't read the books)"
  • George is writing the Season Two adaptation of The Battle of Blackwater, for which he has concerns about the special effects.  "WETA declined to donate their services, for some reason."
  • When asked about "pulling a LOST" and how to end the book series, Martin says "I've always been a fan of the bittersweet ending."
  • Kit Harington is most looking forward to Jon Snow "getting on with a bit of his agenda" now that he's forsaken his family for the second season.
Be sure to tune in next spring for the second season of the emmy-nominated Game of Thrones, and look for the DVD set this fall!
