Hold on to your hats nerd-herders, because Chuck's about to jump to a whole new level of geekdom.

As if it hadn't already been cool enough to have Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) as Stephen Bartowski, we've learned that Mary Elizabeth Bartowski, teased in the season three finale "Chuck Vs. The Ring Pt. 2," will be played by none other Sarah Connor herself, Linda Hamilton!  Geekgasm!

Creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak joked about Linda's casting being a fanmade inspiration that eventually found her way to Linda herself, at which point she contacted them curious about the rumor.  "You don't say no to Linda Hamilton," Schwartz joked.

We also got a chance to speak with the cast after the panel, so here's a rundown of everything we saw and learned:

  • No live Jeffster performance this year, but instead a glorious music video of the pair's version of Lady GaGa's "Bad Romance."
  • The key focus of the fourth season will be the search for Chuck's mother, but won't lose track of everyone else.
  • We'll catch a glimpse of Linda Hamilton as Mary Elizabeth Bartowski in the season premiere.
  • Returning guest stars include Nicole Richie and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, while Olivia Munn and Isaiah Mustafa (the Old Spice guy!) will both guest star as "Greta," a recurring codename for the weekly Buymore/CIA executive, having rebuilt and taken over operation of the store.
  • Regarding fan backlash to Shaw, and romantic obstacles for Chuck and Sarah: Schwartz and Fedak joked "We've learned."
  • Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak indicated that we'd see more of Casey's family as well as Sarahs' backstory in the fourth season.
  • Mark Christopher Lawrence (Big Mike) confirmed that the fourth season would continue the budget-saving policy of alternating cast members that appear episode to episode.
  • Adam Baldwin's dream fight for John Casey would be Arnold Schwarzenegger!  Probably more of a dream for Adam Baldwin, as a staunch democrat compared to John Casey and The Governator's republicans.
