Breaking Bad's tension rarely ever lets up. Even last
night's "Shotgun" proves that loyalties will constantly shift and nothing will ever be put to rest if Walter White continues on the meth-making path of
destruction. Tio Salamanca's ringing bells,
Tuco's grill and Gus's box cutter are just some of the innocent objects
that can be transformed by Breaking Bad's stream of creative
ingenuity.
Where were you the night Jane died? Did you ever believe that Skyler or Hank
would buy Walt's many covers to hide his new hobby? Was his discovery
inevitable? Now that Walter has aroused
Hank's curiosity in the Heisenberg case again, and Breaking Bad's been renewed
for a final sixteen-episode season, have we set the stage for an inevitable
showdown that can only end in blood and bullets? Either way, Breaking Bad keeps us glued to
our TVs week after week with no-holds-barred tension. Our eyes are always wide open, our mouths
are always agape and our fingernails are constantly being chewed clean off.
So as we take a few minutes to catch our breath until next
week's "Cornered," let us remember the best Breaking Bad moments of seasons one
through four, from the fights that made us leap out of our chairs to the

Appearance: Season Two, "ABQ"
Don Salamanca's bell will forever chime our souls into silent horror. As we remember the simple ring of the bell, the vivid memories of Walter and Jesse's attempt to poison Tuco's burrito being thwarted is all we can think of.
The revelation that Tio still held enough coherence to realize the threat posed upon his nephew and finger the culprits haunted us. That fear returened, later, as Tio all but identified Jesse to the DEA and later helped the Cousins find Walter White. Just remember, the next time you want to terrify someone, try speaking through a bell.

Appearance: Season Three, "One Minute"
Perhaps the most defining moment of season three was when Hank received a mysterious phone call warning him of the appearance of the Salamanca cousins. We watched the former DEA agent nervously seething in his car trying to get a grasp on the situation.
Once the Cousins finally made their move, all bets were off as we genuinely feared for the life of the helpless Hank. He was outnumbered and outgunned until a last-minute headshot spared him the fall of their shiny axe. We still have nightmares about those bald-headed baddies.

Appearance: Season Four, "Box Cutter"
Fans had waited patiently for more than a year to see Gus Fring's bitter revenge for Walt and Jesse's killing Gail. In the end, the Chicken Man didn't disappoint. He wordlessly walked into the lab with Jesse and Walter held captive, proceeded to silently disrobe, put on a hazmat suit and brutally slash Victor's throat in front of them for reasons yet unknown. Then, just as quietly, he changed back and left.
Whether punishment for Victor being spotted at the scene of Gail's murder or a simple "I can do this to you if I wanted to" bloodbath, that long walk had us biting our nails like they were delicious Los Pollos Hermanos.
