Archer "Drift Problem" Best Jokes

The latest episode continues to prove that there's more than meets the eye with Pam and George Takei lends his famous voice to play a Yakuza leader. But the main thing "Drift Problem" showcased is that Archer still remains as one of the best animated comedies around.

Sterling Archer is the kind of man that toys with state-of-the-art technology and flies around the world for fun. So what do you get a guy like that for his birthday? Thankfully, his mom knew just the thing to buy him... an epic super agent sports car. James Bond's vehicles pale in comparison to this technological beauty and we've rarely seen Archer so happy.

Even though Sterling makes sure to park the sweet vehicle indoors, it still gets stolen and Archer realizes he can never let his cold mother know her expensive gift is now in the hands of another. Archer's keen detective work leads him to one conclusion (thanks to Pam): the Yakuza stole his ride! Hilarity ensues as Archer scraps up a plan to get his car back from the Japanese gang, but do they even have it? In this episode we got to see at least one joke from almost everyone including Dr. Krieger, Pam, Carol, Lana, and Brett "The Bullet Magnet" Buckley gets shot yet again! That poor dude just can't catch a break.

Abusing Woodhouse

Despite all of his efforts, Woodhouse just can't seem to get any love or respect from Sterling. The man tries so hard to care for Malory's son but it seems to be rare for him to get anything right. He just wanted to wish the secret agent a happy birthday, but Archer viewed the confetti as garbage and demanded for a new meal. Unfortunately for Woodhouse, he didn't have the proper ingredients to remake that meal, nor did he have the right stuff for Archer's request of nuttela waffles or nutella steak and eggs (I suppose it beats his gummi bears and alcohol diet). Left without a proper breakfast on his birthday, Archer made me nearly pee myself when he muttered, "Why do you even bother... living?"

Undercover Shopping Cart

Ray was once an agent man that demanded your respect, but after getting shot he's been pretty useless. Unless there happens to be need for an undercover shopping cart or someone to be Professor Xavier during a party, he just kind of mopes around and slows the rest of the team down. In spite of it being Archer's birthday, he was kind enough (that's something you don't hear every day) to carry Ray outside. But once he saw the drill was just a way to get him to see his new birthday gift, he dropped Ray out of shock. After smashing to the floor, Ray reacts as anyone would... but then realizes he can't feel anything below his legs. "Ouch! ...I think."

Drink And Drive

007's spy cars might be able to cloak or drive on walls, but Archers? Its glove compartment is a bar. Come to think of it, that's probably a really poor design for the glass goods and Archer finds that out the hard way when he speeds away with the display still out. To add insult to injury, it's not even alcohol, it's apple juice! What gives? Archer can handle his booze and still drive better than most! Or so he says...

Loudmouth

You just couldn't take it down a notch, could you, Lana? Sterling spills his soul to you and how do you return the favor? You spit your drink at him (although, she did warn him) and then she unintentionally lets Carol and Pam, the two biggest blabber mouths, in the loop. If she never took it to the next volume, it's possible Pam might have never suggested about the Yakuza and this whole fiasco could have been averted. But, that would be a boring episode (scratch that: it's impossible for Archer to be boring), so I guess we should be praising Lana for setting them on this hilarious path.

Limited Rampage

Rampageeeeeeeee! You think you can just kick the crap out of Archer and get away with it? Hell no! You, sir, have a signature Archer rampage coming your way. Although, Archer was massively outgunned and outmanned, so he hopped in Pam's car and pulled a vehicular rampage. Pam showed off her shockingly good drifting abilities (the woman never ceases to impress) and Sterling hung out of the window while blasting away like a mad man. The Yakuza might be able to school him in unarmed combat, but he dominated the roads. Once all was said and done, it's revealed that the Yakuza never even had his birthday car. But don't worry, we're sure there are more rampages around the corner.
