According to TV Guide's William Keck The West Wing's Allison Janney will be appearing in a mysterious role on LOST in the much talked about May 11th episode titled, "Across the Sea."
As we've reported, the episode won't be featuring any series regulars, and while Darlton has been tight lipped on what role Janney will play, there's been speculation that she'll appear as the mother to either MIB or Jacob. According to Carlton Cuse, the role requires a strong actor to fill it. “She had so much presence in The West Wing...she was in charge and had the strength we needed,” said Cuse.
We've seen a number of LOSTies struggle with daddy issues, it'll be interesting to see the effect Janney's character has in one of the series' final hours. Whether or not she fills a maternal role for the Island's equivalent of God and the Devil, it sounds like she'll have a definite impact.
