As far as "Never Leave Home" horror movies go, Turistas is definitely one of the better excursions, featuring vacationing pretty people running afoul of sinister black marketers in Brazil. Director John Stockwell knows how to shoot attractive young people frolicking about in the sand and surf - and he's not bad at building and maintaining tension when it's not all fun in the sun, either, with the Brazilian rain forest looking especially... well, evil. Turistas is a dark fable with enough sex and violence to keep genre fans happy - at home.
