Chris: I gotta
say, Otto is probably the one guy that's got it worse than Opie. Do you take
great pleasure in torturing yourself with some of the things you put poor Otto
through?
Kurt: Yeah, there's
a certain metaphor there being played out. It's interesting; I also like
playing out the reality of what happens to a lot of these guys. When Bobby's
reading off that list of all the things Otto's done for the club, it's almost
like Otto needed to remind them of everything he's done for them. There's only
one fucking thing he asked them to do for him and they fucked it up and
betrayed him. So you have a guy who'd be willing to smash a Fed's face off a
table two years ago, but now has gone through so much... it's like "fuck it!" I
think it speaks to really the world and the arc of the MC as well. He's turning
them in, but for him it's karma. It's not that he's going to enjoy it, he wants
to fucking die. He doesn't want to live with it, but he also feels like he was
betrayed. In true outlaw fashion they're going to suffer and this is the only
way I can make them suffer. At some point I'd really love to see Otto die and
play that out. Really have a full on fucking execution scene and make those
guys watch it. I don't know when that'll be, time, as I said in the beginning,
is a little bit nebulous so we could probably stretch it out for a couple of
seasons if we wanted to.
Chris: It seems
like as a character when he first showed up everybody gets excited. He's like a
fan favorite. It's cool he's been hanging on all this time.
Kurt: Yeah, it's
fun to do. It's a cool for me to do it and I'm the only one who will actually
hire me as an actor!
