Scumbags kidnap Arnold's daughter and he kills the entire population of an island in retaliation.
Possibly one of the most militantly and gleefully offensive movies ever made, Commando is the epitome of anti-PC '80s excess - an anti-anything-not-American shoot-'em-up disguised as a touching father-daughter story. Arnold is at the top of his game here - young, confident, in great shape and clearly having a blast, whether he's muttering one-liners like "Don't disturb my friend, he's dead tired," carrying giant trees across his shoulder or single-handedly wiping out an entire army. You also get Bill Duke as a Green Beret who thinks he can kick Arnold's ass and David Patrick Kelly as the wonderfully loathsome Sully, who most certainly doesn't get killed last.
Mark L. Lester (director), Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rae Dawn Chong, Alyssa Milano, Vernon Wells, Dan Hedaya, James Olson, Bill Duke, David Patrick Kelly, Drew Snyder.
