The Dane is almost always at Johnny Caspar's side, serving as the excitable Italian crime boss' right-hand man, much like what the crafty Tom Regan is to Irish crime boss Leo O'Bannon. The Dane is an imposing and intimidating figure, always willing to inflict extreme violence on a situation to get the job done. He's also a not-so-secret homosexual, and his one weakness is his torrid relationship with bookie Mink LaRouie, who's also in a secret relationship with fellow bookie Bernie Bernbaum. The Dane can't stand being spoken to in a condescending way - he often refers to Tom as "smart guy" due to his seemingly constant witticisms. The Dane was eventually killed by Johnny Caspar after Tom convinced him that he'd been disloyal - though The Dane indeed stayed true to his boss to the very end.
