Pam McFadden is like a lot of young women in New York City, working in a restaurant and dreaming of making it big as an actress. Pam's a bit luckier than other New York gals, as hotshot talent agent and publicist Stu Shepard is interested in representing her. Stu is also interested in banging her brains out, even going so far as removing his wedding ring whenever he contacts her. When Stu ends up being trapped in a phone booth, forced by an unseen (and armed) moral crusader to take a good look at himself, Pam - and most of New York City, at that - will end up seeing the real man behind the flashy smile and empty promises.
