In an unnamed Texas town, wealthy bar owner Julian Marty suspects his wife, Abby, of having an affair with one of his employees, Ray. Julian hires sleazy private investigator Loren Visser to tail the couple and bring him proof. Visser returns with photographs of the young lovers in several compromising positions, and Julian adjusts Visser's contract to now include murdering them both. And things pretty much go from bad to much, much worse from there, as this is a crime story from the Coen Brothers, where nobody's very smart and everyone's got their own twisted agenda. Mr. Marty ends up being buried alive in a field somewhere - maybe he should've just let his wife have her fun, or just divorced her, or something.
