Crazy scientists clone Ripley and the Alien Queen and everything goes straight to hell from there.
A bizarre, outlandish piece of French soft core sci-fi porn, Alien Resurrection is too strange, gooey and grotesque to condemn as a complete failure. Resurrection illustrates beyond a shadow of the doubt that each Alien film is truly the unique vision of its particular director, with each installment never falling into the trap of being a carbon copy of its predecessor. Resurrection is big, loud, goofy, gross and probably completely unnecessary, complete with a maddening script filled with awful Joss Whedon sarcasm - but, oh, what a sight it is to behold at times. Sigourney Weaver has never been sexier, and is clearly amused that the producers found such an absurd way to bring back Ripley.
Jean-Pierre Jeunet (director), Sigourney Weaver, Winona Ryder, Ron Perlman, Dominique Pinon, Michael Wincott, Brad Dourif, Gary Dourdan, Dan Hedaya, Leland Orser, Kim Flowers, J.E. Freeman, Raymond Cruz.
