I like pirates as much as the next wench, but I can't see myself spending $2.5 million on a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed movie theater. I'd stick with something that's bound to be around for the rest of my life, like Star Wars. Then again, I can't see myself spending $2.5 million on anything, as that is likely more money than I will ever make in my life. So go on with your bad self, eccentric millionaire, and enjoy the fruits of your inheritance.
This theater was designed by Elite Home Theatre, responsible for that awesome Batcave theater you've probably seen floating around the internet. It's in Palm Beach, Florida, in the private home of someone who apparently really loves Johnny Depp.
No word on a/v specs (lame), but we do know the theater is built on the deck of a pirate ship, the complex features a pirate-themed tavern, and the whole thing is accessed by a paved entrance way with a pirate ticket booth.
The only downside I can see to this enormous investment is watching non-action movies. I mean, how would you feel watching Sophie's Choice or Schindler's List in here? I guess with that kind of money, though, you can build an adjacent sadness-themed movie theater for those occasions.
This Pirate Home Theater Cost $2.5 Million Bucks
Can we come over to your house, please?
